Step 2 – Select Your Grade of Finishing
Character – As it comes from the tree with knots, flecks, rays, cat’s paw, sapwood, heart wood and lots of colour variety. Rich and full of life.
Distressed – This treatment gives a lovely, worn, welcome look. The worn edges and marks on the face of the oak gives the appearance of a floor that has been in the house for some time all done by hand.
Distressing means that finishes will settle in differently than in a sanded boards, adding to the old and reclaimed effect.
