Established in 1993, ATC Floors and Doors was originally set up in Blaina in South Wales.
The business grew quickly and in 1996, moved to Llandogo in the Wye Valley before finding its more permanent home in Monmouth in 2001.
We are currently situated on the old Monmouth Saw Mill site so the area is steeped in a rich history of working with wood as a raw material.
We are extremely proud to carry on this area’s association with woodwork and quality craftsmanship.

Our history
Established in 1993
ATC was originally situated on the Rising Sun Industrial Estate in Blaina in the Welsh Valleys.
At this time, the business dealt mainly in salvaged wood which was sourced from all over the UK and France.
Wood was salvaged from many places including working men’s clubs, miners social clubs, chapels, schools, village halls, barns, disused farmhouses and more.
Salvaged wood would be cut, kiln dried and brought to market.
Moved to Wye Valley in 1995
As the business expanded, it became clear that ATC required larger premises, prompting our move to a location known as “The Log Cabin” in Llandogo.
During this time, we began sourcing French oak through frequent trips to France, successfully establishing a reliable supply chain.
From the outset, we prioritised ensuring that all new wood was sustainably sourced.
In addition to the new oak, we continued salvaging wood and refining our skills in cleaning and machining reclaimed materials.
Moved to Monmouth in 2001
As the business continued to grow, we once again needed larger premises, prompting us to move to Monmouth and purchase the old Monmouth Saw Mill.
The purchase of the Monmouth site was largely funded by a deal we did with an American architect who wanted to buy a large amount of reclaimed English oak to be used in a ranch built in Yellowstone Park. After visiting us in mid-Wales to see the wood, he increased the order from 50 square metres to 1000 square metres.
This relocation enabled us to expand both our showroom and workshop. During this period fitting also became an important part of the business.
Opened Cheltenham in 2003
Our Cheltenham shop opened in 2003 and has been managed by Scarlett Harris ever since.
Located in the heart of Cheltenham’s Tivoli shopping district, a renowned area for independent retailers, ATC is proud to be part of its vibrant history.
Though the Cheltenham shop is smaller than our Monmouth location, it still offers a wide selection of high-quality floors, doors, window furniture, oils, finishes, and gifts.
We also provide a comprehensive supply and fit service for all types of timber floors and doors.
